Richard is FD of New World Trading Company (“NWTC”) – an award winning and fast-growing pub/restaurant business established in 2011. Richard joined NWTC as Finance Director in July 2015 following 11 years at the UK’s leading mid-market private equity house, LDC. In June 2016, he helped lead the MBO of the business with the backing of Graphite. Richard has over 16 years of private equity and finance experience. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC and pursued a career in private equity focussing on leisure investments. Whilst at LDC he originated and transacted private equity investments including NWTC and MAMA. Richard joined the NWTC board as non-executive director in April 2013 when the business had two sites.

Andy Blackstone is a chartered accountant and FD of M&C Saatchi World Services LLP and company secretary of M&C Saatchi plc. As I work in both a Group and a Subsidiary I see both sides of the of the FD’s stress, and how chinse whispers are played out in an organisation. While dealing with all aspects of finance from acquisitions, disposals, Aim flotation, entrepreneurial incentive schemes, tax treasury to accounts payable and accounting systems.

For the last 16 years Philip has been finance director of BRITA UK’s operations, working on strategy and business development as part of a close knit senior management team and with responsibility for full financial service provision to sales, marketing, manufacturing and logistics.
Brian is finance director of Viewsat Limited which provides comprehensive FTA satellite and OTT streaming services for broadcasters of every size worldwide. Brian has worked for Public and Private sector organisations, including the V&A, Royal British Legion, Philips Electronics and Polygram BV, Bourne Publicity and Milestone Group Plc which Brian took to an AIM listing in 2003. Brian was an executive council member of CIMA, chair of CIMA Central Southern England and president of CIMA West Surrey. He holds the Institute Plaque for meritorious voluntary service. He is also a fellow of the CMI and a member of the IOD.
Lisa is a CIMA qualified finance director with a background in manufacturing and owner managed businesses. Expert in challenging and improving strategy, systems and processes to optimise financial performance and facilitate ambitious growth plans within expanding SME’s. Her approach to improving performance sits within a trust building and co-creation ethos, which puts mentoring, education and skills transfer as important as the delivery and documentation. This creates clarity of direction across all levels of the organisation. In her role at Mediwin, Lisa has managed all reporting, treasury, working capital & HR requirements, during which time the company has trebled its activities.
Scott Dale started his career at Deloitte in the late 90’s working across consultancy, audit and corporate finance. Following this he spent the next 10 years in IT and Business Process Outsourcing for companies such as Electronic Data Systems and Accenture. The last decade or so has been spent in the energy industry with both senior sales and finance roles at Npower and EON. Currently finance director of a challenger brand Extra Energy. Outside of work Scott is a father and husband to 2 brilliant ladies and enjoy keeping fit and eating out, one of which he is having a lot more success with than the other.
David Ewing is a member of the ECI Investment Committee and has overall responsibility for ECI’s investor relations, marketing and origination activities. He joined ECI in 2001 following an early career in software development. His past and present investments include Think Money, Laterooms, M and M Direct, Ascribe, Fourth, Encore Tickets, Auction Technology Group, Media iQ and Make It Cheaper. David has a degree in engineering from Glasgow University and an MBA from Manchester Business School.

Rhys Herbert is a senior economist in the Research Department of Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking. He is responsible for analysing and forecasting trends in the UK and other major economies. Rhys joined Lloyds Bank in January 2011. Prior to this, he worked at the economic consultancy Oxford Economics where he headed up its industry forecasting service. He has also worked at the Office for National Statistics, Prudential Assurance Corporation, Credit Lyonnais Bank and the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. Rhys has a MSc in Economics from the University of London.

Jim Khan is a tax technology expert with over 25 years of experience in the field with leading organisations including Arthur Andersen, Wolters Kluwer, Tax Computer Systems and now Taxback International. Jim is known for leading sales, marketing and consulting teams for expansion and entry into large corporations and multi-nationals. At Tax Computer Systems Ltd he was instrumental in growing the business from 10 employees and £1.5m turnover to 58 staff and £12m turnover. Part of, and a key lead, in the team orchestrating and managing the sale of Tax Computer Systems to private equity in July 2016.

Richard West was part of the original Clifford Thames Management team who led the LDC backed MBO in 2014. During the subsequent period the business saw substantial growth in revenue and profit both organically and through acquisition and launched a number of new products. In 2017 the business was acquired by a leading US automotive business. Richard has been with the business through the integration period until March. Richard was recognised for his talents and was Awarded CFO of the Year at the FD Excellence Awards in London in 2017.
